Hotel guests decreased by 3.7 percentage points in October compared to the same month last year, NSO figures issued this morning show.

The NSO said that arrivals in collective accommodation establishments amounted to 108,473. Total nights spent were recorded at 653,334, a drop of 8.4 per cent over the corresponding month in 2008, with the largest drops being registered in the 3-star and 4-star hotel categories. The average length of stay was six nights.

The overall occupancy rate in collective accommodation establishments (net use) amounted to 55.4 per cent.

Non-residents occupancy rate stood at 53.1 per cent, with a drop of 3.9 percentage points, while the residents occupancy rate increased by 0.2 percentage points, to 2.3 per cent.
