The Westin Dragonara Resort's management is determined to work even closer together throughout this year to help raising more awareness in protecting the environment.

The housekeeping department has accepted the added responsibility of separating waste. The first project involves glass separation: Every bin in the 340 guest rooms and suites is being checked and glass is separated accordingly and placed in dedicated skips in the resort.

Paper, plastic and cardboard separation will follow and the whole campaign will be in full swing during this year, a spokesman for the resort said.

Over the past months the Westin has introduced the Green Room concept where guests can collaborate towards the environment by not having their linen changed on a daily basis.

Other departments are also collaborating towards the environment by separating bulky refuse such as cardboard and broken equipment which is then sold for recycling.
