No one was injured when a fire broke out in a room on the second floor of the Marina Hotel in Sliema yesterday.
Hotel staff were quick to control the fire that did not spread to adjoining rooms because they had closed all the ventilation.
Hotel guests were evacuated and the fire was extinguished in next to no time.
A fireman said the blaze was probably caused by a short circuit.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene, along with an ambulance.
