Migration from Sir Paul Boffa Hospital in Floriana to the new oncology hospital at Tal-Qroqq Msida, will start in August, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Chris Fearne said yesterday during a public consultation meeting at Castille.

However, he noted that taxpayers would have to pay an additional €22 million, as some of the equipment, including the linear accelerators had become obsolete, due to the delay in the completion of the project.

Health Minister Konrad Mizzi said that following the Mater Dei concrete scandal, people had approached the ministry with new allegations of wrongdoing involving pending payments. He said these cases had been referred to the police.
