Karozzini horses are yet again being made to suffer in the scorching heat because of the absence of shelter at City Gate, Graffitti said yesterday.

The shelter built at St George's Square by the President's Palace in Republic Street, Valletta is virtually useless because it was too small, Graffitti said. It noted that the authorities were not even allowing cabbies to shelter their horses under the City Gate arches.

It was shameful that horses are being treated in this manner while the karozzin was promoted as a national characteristic and a tourist attraction, it said.
