The case of three Chinese girls who stand charged with their involvement in the running of Honey Girl in Balzan as a brothel is continuing behind closed doors.

Liu Renhua, 42, Yu Yali, 43 and Qin Weihong, 42, all of Attard, were being remanded in custody after they did not request bail when their case started earlier this month.

This morning, all three sat huddled together in the dock and a slightly older woman who tried to speak to them was told off and asked to sit at the back and stop speaking to them.

Police Inspector Louise Calleja requested that the case be heard behind closed doors "on moral values".

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli granted the request.

Journalists were asked to leave the court room even though the accused’s names had already been released.
