The third home to be run by the Jesus of Nazareth Foundation for people with disabilities was inaugurated yesterday by Archbishop Paul Cremona.

The foundation, headed by Fr Ang Seychell, seeks to house and assist persons with disabilities. the emarginated and those who are vulnerable.

The new home, which like the other two is in Zejtun, has been named after Jean Varnier, founder of the Arche Foundation, an international organisation which helps people with disability.

Mgr Cremona praised the foundation for its work and said the opening of the new home was in itself a reminder of the mission of the Church to spread the word of God, a message of love which applied also to those who were suffering and were vulnerable.

This was also a message to society that they were one people, without distinctions based on ability.

The new home will house four men and four women. The first home, Dar Nazareth, houses five men and four women while Dar l-Arċipriet Degabriele is home for another four men and four women.

The homes provide a range of occupations to their residents, mostly based on handicrafts.
