The Cabinet has approved a proposal to set up a home for persons with disability in Gozo.

A call for expressions of interest will be issued shortly for the provision of a property to be used for this purpose.

The government said the proposal was made by the Parliamentary Secretary for Care of the Elderly and Persons with Disability, Justyne Caruana, following plans for a similar government home in Siggiewi.

The Siggiewi home is set to receive its first residents by the end of the year.
