A 90-year-old Holocaust survivor is preparing to make his orchestral debut with music composed in the concentration camp where he was imprisoned 70 years ago.

Long-time pianist George Horner will play with the renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma at Boston's Symphony Hall.

The concert is in aid of the Terezin Music Foundation, an organisation dedicated to preserving the work of artists and musicians killed by the Germans.

Mr Horner, now a retired doctor living near Philadelphia, said it was a noble endeavour to carry on the musical legacy of Holocaust victims.

Event organiser Mark Ludwig called the concert "an extraordinary link to the past".
