A masked man armed with a firearm is on the run after a hold-up at Maypole in St Catherine Street, Attard. No one was injured.

The man entered the shop and demanded cash before escaping in a waiting car.

He also took cash from a client. The amount stolen has not yet been determined.

A pregnant woman was among the shoppers when the hold-up took place, at around 7.30pm. It is not clear if the thief had an accomplice in the car.

An inquiry is being held.
