British American Life, a member of The Global Group, has announced a five per cent declared reversionary bonus rate payable on all British American interest sensitive policies in force as at December 31, 2004.

Simon Anastasi, chief executive of the group's insurance services, said: "Yet again, the declared bonus rate is in line with British American Life's policy of being able to maintain, over the last years, a strong and constant bonus rate. In fact, over the past six years this represents an average bonus rate of 5.83 per cent with the 2004 bonus representing the highest bonus being paid by a local life assurance principal.

"This has been possible as a result of the proactive management of our life fund and a resulting strong investment performance against a backdrop of low deposit-based interest rates and low inflation".

British American Insurance Co. (Malta) Ltd, known as British American Life, is authorised under the Insurance Business Act, 1998 to carry on long-term business of insurance and is a subsidiary of Global Financial Services Group p.l.c.
