Hibs Go Mobile are the sole leaders of the Peugeot women's league after their victory over Naxxar. Depiro Still and Luxol Vodafone maintained their challenge with wins against Kerygma and Qormi.

Hibs handed the first defeat to Naxxar in a high-scoring match on Friday evening. Hibs were the better team but after building a 30-16 lead midway through the second quarter, Naxxar started closing the gap significantly. By half-time it was 36-30 for Hibs.

After a low-key start to the third session, Hibs regained control to open a comfortable 75-60 advantage. Naxxar fought back bravely though but their last efforts only helped them to make the scoreline more respectable in a 76-68 loss.

Depiro were in the driving seat for the entire match but struggled more than expected to impose their superiority on Kerygma. The champions opened an eight-point lead after five minutes but Kerygma reduced the deficit to 26-20 at half-time.

Dorianne Galea sustained an injury in the last part of the third session but Depiro relied on their better experience to win the match by ten points - 58-48.

After struggling for the first two sessions against lowly Qormi, Luxol improved tremendously after the interval to show their true worth in a one-way 55-19 win.

Standings: Hibs 6; Naxxar, Depiro, Luxol 5; Kerygma, Qormi 3.
