Hibs Go Mobile underlined their bold bid to dethrone women's league champions Depiro Still after a late rally in the last session to win the second tie from the series 54-52. Both teams have now won a game each in the best-of-five series.

No doubt, Depiro coach Charles Bonnici will still be wondering how his team lost this match after dominating the opening two sessions. In the end, Depiro suffered their first league upset of the season after leading 33-14 at one point against Hibs on Sunday.

Hibs again met some difficulties to control their opponents' speed and tough play in defence. Depiro had the better start and with Hibs reeling to their pressure, Bonnici's girls went in for the break 35-18 in front.

Hibs regained composure after the interval as the champions, perhaps, thought the game was already wrapped up. However, Depiro still started the last quarter 48-35 ahead.

Hibs never gave up and grew in confidence as they ate into Depiro's advantage. Two minutes from time Achille Pace's team forged ahead 50-48.

But, quite oddly, fear crept into their game and Hibs' momentum was halted.

It was tight all the way but with eight seconds left, Hibs won a jumpball near their zone, Sandra Schembri Wismayer was released underneath the Depiro ring to pot the winning basket.

Game three is scheduled for Thursday evening.
