I have been most impressed by reports recently of the hi-tech companies with their ultra-modern communications systems setting up their businesses in Malta.

I would be even more impressed if it did not take six days to fix a line fault which seems to occur in my telephone after every heavy shower of rain – but living in the deep south of Malta I expect things are a little slow. Perhaps that’s why the part of Marsascala where I stay is called Siberia!
