Last Sunday, like many other people, I visited Villa Francia in Lija and I could admire not only the beauty of our heritage but also the restoration that took place. The restoration was carried out very professionally by government employees and also Mcast students, thus providing opportunities for them.

Concurrently, another project in Cottonera is also being carried out and is worthy of praise: the restoration of the bastions. Far from criticising the government about the neglect of some of our fortifications, I think these fortifications and buildings have great potential that we should know how to exploit. This is not an easy task but we have to find what purposes these buildings can serve. Projects like the restoration of Villa Francia deserve much more appreciation from the public and, especially, from tourists. I think that many also welcome the idea that the Presidential palaces be more accessible.
