The Dominican missionaries in Albania would like to thank the Birkirkara Visual Art Group for the art exhibition they recently held at the Dominican convent in Rabat in aid of our mission.

This is the second year they held such an activity which resulted in a donation of €2,000. We would like to thank also the O.P. Mission Support Group (Rabat) which for these last three years has organised activities, such as bazaars, barbecues, and art exhibitions which this year raised a total of €7,190. These donations will be used for the building of a social development centre in the village of Lagjja Mirdita outside the city of Durrës, Albania.

Maltese Dominicans have been offering their services in Albania for the past 15 years. The small chapel dedicated to St George in this village, built with the generosity of the Maltese people, gives us the opportunity to celebrate Sunday Masses and other liturgical functions throughout the year.

The local community now needs an appropriate environment in which classes of catechism and other educational exercises could be held within the broad context of a more complete human formation.

We take this opportunity to encourage more benefactors to keep supporting the priceless work carried out by our Mission Promoter, Fr Angelo Mamo, and his helpers through their contributions.
