The police have arrested three people in connection with cocaine packages destined for Malta that were seized in the US and the UK on Sunday.

The police said they had arrested a 64-year-old man, his 35-year-old son, both of St Julians, and a 31-year-old man of Sliema for whom the drugs were meant.

The men were held following collaboration with international police who found 400 grammes of cocaine packaged and ready to reach addresses in Malta.

Duty Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit was informed and appointed court experts to assist in the inquiry. Investigations are ongoing.
