The AFM will roll out its guns for the Republic Day Parade on Sunday, the first time in years that heavy guns will form part of a parade.

The Republic Day Parade is the biggest annual parade in the AFM calendar. More than 160 men and women will take part, distributed over four detachments representing the Air Wing, Maritime, infantry and support, along with the band.

The guns - 25 pounders now used for saluting purposes - will hark back to the artillery in the AFM's historical lineage.

The troops march off from City Gate at 9.30am. The parade will be held on Palace Square.
