Children showed off all they knew about healthy eating and exercise, during an open day at St Bernadette Primary School in San Ġwann yesterday.

Colourful handbooks and charts promoting oral hygiene, fruit and vegetable consumption and fighting obesity were presented to the Parliamentary Secretary for Health Joseph Cassar during a morning of activities.

The students participated in a project entitled Together We Grow: The Smart Healthy Way last year, which focused mainly on healthy eating. Parents and local and government officials were invited to the open day where they got a chance to interact with the children and get a younger perspective on the global pandemic of obesity.

The aim of the project is to work together as a school community to empower everyone to make healthy life choices.
