The overall expenditure on health accounted for 6.9 per cent of the GDP in 2006, 6.5 per cent in 2007 and seven per cent in 2008, Social Policy Minister John Dalli told Charles Buhagiar (PL) in reply to a parliamentary question.
The parameters included the government's overall expenditure (including capital expenditure), as well as the outlays by families and non-profit institutions serving households.
