Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia this evening gave a break-down of the waiting list for operations at Mater Dei in March.

Replying to a question in parliament by Labour MP Chris Agius, the minister gave the following details:

Ophthalmology 3,409; Orthopaedic 5,293; General surgery 2,218; Plastic surgery 199 (up to October 2012); Urology 646 (up to May), ENT 525 (up to October).

Child surgery, nil; Gynaecology 510; Cardiology 830 and Dentistry 582.

The minister also said there were 183 types of medicine out of stock as of March 11.
