Is John Bencini, the president of the MUT, suffering from dementia? Has he forgotten so easily how we were treated by the Labour Party and its "fiancée" the GWU in the 1970s and early 1980s?
Has he forgotten how we were locked out for seven weeks and then suffered mass transfers engineered by Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici, the then Labour Prime Minister? How can he walk with and support Tony Zarb after all the insults and suffering we had to endure? I and many others are disgusted by his actions as these show that he is not as good a negotiator as other union leaders who chose the path of negotiation and not confrontation. As retired teachers we do not want to belong to such a union.
