Daniel Radcliffe, the actor of Harry Potter, is hesitant to see the new Harry Potter play.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’s previews opened last Tuesday to praise and fantastic reviews, with tickets sold out well into 2017.

The actor was asked on The Late Show whether he was planning to go to see the play.

“I feel like I want to see the show. I am genuinely intrigued and I've heard it's fantastic,” Radcliffe answered.

Despite that, Radcliffe said he is not planning on going to see the play “for the time being.” He continued to explain that he’s concerned about the possible over-excitement of the Potter fans in the audience.

“I just feel sitting in an audience of what will for the most of the near future be very enthusiastic Harry Potter fans might be like not a relaxing way to see a show,” he admitted.

Radcliffe said he was happy to see Jamie Parker, who Radcliffe praised for being a “wonderful actor”, portraying the notorious character. He seemed willing to share his Potter-fame with Parker.

“I'm very happy to see him play me. He can do all the Harry questions now.”

A book version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be published on July 31, on both Harry Potter author J.K Rowling’s and Harry Potter’s birthday.
