As a true Ġiljaniż, born, bred and raised in St Julians, I make it a point to know what is really happening in this, once, sleepy village. I think that Messrs John Schembri and Chris J. Delicata were far too harsh on the St Julians local council with their criticism.

While I sympathise with Mr Delicata regarding the St Elia road project, I doubt whether these works had the same priority as other projects falling under the responsibility of the St Julians council. One must not forget that St Julians has now become the most challenging and hard to please village in both Malta and Gozo. Paceville alone demands the entire efforts of the councillors in the locality and I am sure that with the help of the police and the Malta Tourism Authority, the St Julians council will have more successes.

On the other hand, what about the St Julians seafront promenade? Have there been any complaints? As far as I know, this beautiful promenade is properly maintained, clean, tidy and washed regularly in the early hours. I have never noticed a light bulb out of order, a tree uprooted or a bench ripped off.

Finally, I would like to thank the St Julians local council and the police for their support and understanding in helping me organise the City of London 95th anniversary and the grand reception to all the bandsmen and committee members during the traditional feast of our patron saint - St Julian.
