What are your prospects for the coming festive season?
In spite of dull forecasts, bookings are still coming in at a regular pace and in line with last year. In so far as room reservations are concerned, it remains very much a last minute situation – however, the regularity of the bookings, especially corporate and e-commerce business, is encouraging.

Also, our reputation for good food gives us an edge when it comes to food and beverage. Our Sunday lunch is generally sold out and bookings for staff parties and festive occasions are extremely good.

What will be the hotel’s highlight for the Christmas festivities?
We love Christmas at the Excelsior. This year we are introducing a Christmas village in our outside area – we will have a Santa’s Grotto, a Yummy Shop and a number of different stalls selling a large variety of handmade crafts and Christmas gifts.

We also organised a Santas’ Swim in aid of Puttinu Cares – team members, family and friends dipped into the chilly sea in aid of charity. Moreover, over 50 team members participated in the President’s Run.

We also have a Charity Forest and hotel suppliers and corporate clients are decorating Christmas trees displayed in the hotel lobby in aid of their favourite charities.

How will you manage to enjoy the festivities with your loved ones if the season of goodwill is also the busiest time for hotels?
You can only enjoy the festive season if you drag your loved ones along with you.
