A would-be thief was apprehended by the police and another one escaped after forcing open a shop in Hamrun early this morning.
The police said the Hamrun district police were informed that two men were acting suspiciously close to a shop in Triq il-Kappillan Mifsud corner with Triq Kanonku Bonnici at 2.20am.
Upon the police arrival, one man fled the scene but the other one, an 18-year-old who lives Hamrun was apprehended.
Tools usually usually used in break-ins were found and the shop was forced open.
From preliminary investigations it appears that nothing was stolen but investigations are still ongoing.
