Hamrun Spartans and Mqabba shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Hibs Stadium this evening.

Mqabba certainly will rue themselves of not taking all points from this match as they had a catalogue of chances to take all points but they were too erratic in front of goal and in the end had to settle for a point.

It was Mqabba who created the best chances in the first half with John Nwoba and Bojan Mamic twice failing to hit the ball home with only Hamrun goalkeeper Omar Borg to beat.

After the break, Mqabba kept the initiative but for all their efforts they simply could not find a way through with Nwoba missing another two clear-cut chances.

Hamrun's best chances came late on when first Ribeiro fed Ryan Spiteri who fired wide in front of a gaping goal and then it was the Brazilian striker who anticipated Mqabba goalkeeper Kris Calleja but his effort finished wide.

Mqabba midfielder Marko Potezika was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
