Hamrun clubs gave a fitting send-off this afternoon to former President Guido de Marco, a long-time resident of the locality.

Flowers were placed on the hearse as it stopped briefly outside the office where he worked for many years as a lawyer.

The hearse was then driven further up St Joseph High Road where a crowd was waiting outside St Cajetan and St Joseph Band Clubs and the parish church.

The St Cajetan band played funeral marches as it marched in front of the hearse along with a contingent of boy scouts and girl guides.

The funeral then continued towards the Addolorata Cemetery for a private ceremony.
