Lewis Hamilton believes his new management company will open doors for him beyond his career in Formula One.

Hamilton last week signed with Simon Fuller's XIX Entertainment to oversee any potential new deals whilst he is in F1, but also with regard to his long-term future beyond motorsport.

The 26-year-old McLaren star has so far dabbled with acting, and has a deep love of music, not least due to his relationship with his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.

As far as Hamilton is concerned, there are many possibilities now available to him once he finishes with F1, although he admits that day remains a long way off.

"I haven't actually started to discuss with Simon what I will do beyond Formula One," Hamilton told Press Association Sport.

"You see Formula One drivers generally, the guys that are retiring or those that do stop, there's not a lot for them to do afterwards. They go to DTM (German touring cars), or something like that.

"To be honest I don't know what I want to do when I stop in Formula One. I've a long time to think about it.

"It's more about having things set in place, being able to enjoy life, having a bit of a business mind and enjoying doing business things.

"Maybe something like purchasing properties or being a part of something, like I'm with Reebok and I want to see them grow to be a bigger brand than Nike for example. I want to be a part of that.

"Maybe I'd like to have my own trainer or clothing brand, doing cameos in movies that I really enjoy. I'd love to do something there.

"I also love music, so maybe playing a part in producing music of some sort, TV shows, I don't know. I just want to experience other things."

Of pressing concern to Hamilton is the greater establishment of the Foundation, in his name, he set up last year.

The organisation is non-profit making and focuses on improving the lives and opportunities of children and young people living in ill health or poverty in the UK, Europe or developing countries.

Hamilton readily concedes he has not devoted as much of his energy as he would have liked to the project, and is hoping that will now change in linking up with Fuller.

"I want to build my Foundation, which I started ages ago, but it's not really been doing a lot because I've not had too many people on the case," added Hamilton.

"But in the future I want a well-known Foundation that does a lot around the world, so then when I do stop I can focus on giving my spare time to that.

"So there's a ton of different things that I can do when I come to retire.

"I just want to make sure I'm given every opportunity, and I've given myself every opportunity to know what I want to do and maximise my career."
