Half the fare paid by every passenger travelling by bus on Saturday will be donated to the Malta Community Chest Fund as Malta Public Transport embarks on its third edition of B’tal-Linja għall-Istrina.

Last year, the company raised €38,000 from the initiative as well as donations and it hoped to exceed the sum this year.

Half the fare of each journey paid by Tallinja cards or cash tickets will go directly to the cause. Passengers using the adult, student or Gozo Tallinja cards pay 75c for the trip, while holders of a concession or child Tallinja card pay 25c. Cash tickets can be bought on board the bus for €1.50c.

Funds collected through the initiative will be added to the donations that Malta Public Transport employees have contributed throughout the year.
