The new East London Rail Line features a touch of Malta: floor tiles for the newly refurbished stations were supplied by Hal Mann International Ltd, part of Hal Mann Vella Ltd. The company developed a special terrazzo flooring tile to meet the strict performance requirements demanded for this project. Developed over two years, it is a mixture of aggregates manufactured at the Mosta plant under strict quality control. The tiles were installed by approved UK specialists. The Hal Mann tile, known as the RM-642, was used at several stations along the new rail line, including Woolwich Arsenal, Dalston Junction, Haggerston, Hoxton and the flagship Zone 1 station Shoreditch High Street.
