The General Workers Unionshad welcomed the reform of local law enforcement, announced yesterday.

This, it said, was to include several proposals submitted by the union, especially regarding the conditions of work of local wardens and the improvement of the system in general.

The GWU said it hoped the reform would be put in place without delay and hoped it would continue to be fine tuned as necessary.

It said it was important that the security of employment of wardens would in future continue to be strengthened and that those involved would work together for this aim to be achieved.
