Requests from the Malta Environment and Planning Authority are to be ignored unless these are the result of consultations, the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises (GRTU) has instructed its members.

The GRTU said that it was not acceptable for Mepa to believe it could just implement its strange systems.

Recently, in more than one case, it imposed counter payment systems on different users without any consultation.

The government, the GRTU said, was bound with the 10 fundamental principles of the Small Business Act which promoted a reduction in bureaucracy and lower payment burdens on enterprises.

It appealed to the Prime Minister to ensure that Mepa did not abuse.
