Thurston Grixti and Aaron Busuttil will be travelling to Belgium next week to take part in an U-21 international snooker tournament, to be held in Genk between December 19 and 21.

Grixti and Busuttil will compete with the top 12 Belgian U-21 internationals and six leading U-21 players from England, namely Sam Baird, Kyren Wilson, Darren Bond, Nick Jennings, Darrel Witworth and Ben Harrison. The two well-known Belgian players, Luca Brecel and Kristof Vermeiren, will be among the participants.

Vincent Pisani, the director of Pro Am Snooker, will accompany the two young Maltese players to Belgium after being invited to attend the tournament.

Over the past three years, Pro Am Snooker have hosted two Belgian players for their annual Invitational European U-17 Snooker Open.

The participants in the snooker tournament in Belgium will be divided into four groups of five players each. The top two players in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. The final will be played on best of 11 frames.

Pro Am Snooker also announced that the draw for their European U-17 Open will be held on Sunday morning at Jesmond Sporting Club in Ħamrun, starting at 11 a.m.
