Who me? Nahhhh definitely not. I don’t DO envy. Never have, never will. The negative, green, evil, vindictive envy….THAT I don’t do. On the other hand…the sort of envy where, I WISH I’d been born heir to the Hilton Empire …maybe! Heheheh

What I’m trying to say is, that I would never have it in my heart to wish anyone any wrong just because s/he has succeeded in doing something or has something I’ve always wanted. Seems to me though that so many people just thrive on doing so on this tiny island, where if I farted, my best friend in Bugibba would probably smell it!

I had a friend who had just bought a spanking new car, shimmering she drove into her street and parked it right in front of her house. She’d been saving for it and finally she wasn’t going to rely on public transport anymore. It could get her to work the next day efficiently or so she thought. Next Morning at 8am, she awoke to find her tyres slashed. Not just one, no….. all of them!

And so I thought to myself, but who could be so consumed by such jealousy to even bother to go out at a time where s/he is unseen and damage someone’s property!!

So it’s no surprise to me anymore when I visit an online forum of any sort. It has become a pass time for those who hide behind their PCs commenting on blogs, message boards anything that tickles their venomous fancy, to pass sweeping statements and pass judgement on whom, they don’t really like.

When you do actually corner such people and ask them why they don’t like someone enough to write against or comment about them, more commonly you will find that THEY don’t even know why they harbour that hatred towards such a person. Which makes it even more pathetic.

Envy, is indeed a very local trait. The way we are unable to be happy for someone else’s achievement or glory at ANYTHING they choose to do in life, is beyond me. Everyone is entitled to opinions. Yes, Freedom of speech is something I agree with. Journalism, for one, is based on that premise. But it is the way you choose to deliver your opinion that also makes a difference.

There is no sense in being envious for another. If you are, then you are unhappy with yourself. Then you are convinced that you are not capable of achieving. Envy is cowardice. If you think you can do it better than others, then go out there, get in there and grab it. Do it. Succeed. Let your voice be heard.

Nothing ever comes easy in life. Nothing falls into anyone’s lap. People work very hard for what they achieve and that’s why….You sitting there ….yes You at home behind your PC…if you want what the person you’re so busy hating has….just go and get it yourself. And get yourself a good scrub…get rid of that green tinge!
