The University of Malta will be developing a green travel plan for staff, students and visitors.

The University will launch the studies for the drafting of the plan early next month. The University is using its internal resources to carry out the studies.

Any methodologies developed will be discussed with stakeholders. Implementation of the plan will follow after the approval of all stakeholders.

Through this initiative, the University hopes to be able to maintain cost-effective, efficient, smart and attractive travel solutions.

The objectives of this initiative are to improve the range and quality of travel choices for students, staff and visitors, support and encourage healthier lifestyles for those who choose healthier travel alternatives, reduce the University’s carbon footprint and improve the overall environment on campus.

The University aims to set a positive example for the promotion of sustainable transport and encourage social responsibility.
