Greek pro-euro parties have clinched a coalition deal, the leader of the socialist Pasok party said, vowing "a major battle" to revise an unpopular EU-IMF bailout deal.

"Greece has a government," Evangelos Venizelos told reporters, adding that the make-up of the new government backed by New Democracy, Pasok and the small Democratic Left party would be announced later on Wednesday.

Referring to a summit of EU leaders next week, he said: "Those two days in Brussels we will carry out a major battle for revision of the loan and negotiate a framework that will boost the recovery and the fight against unemployment.

"New Democracy, Pasok and Democratic Left will proportionally take on the burden of collective responsibility for revising the loan agreement and completely exiting the crisis," he added.
