Police have confirmed three members of Greece's World Cup squad have had cash totalling £1,300 stolen from their hotel rooms.

The unidentified trio reported money had been taken from their rooms at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Umhlanga, north of Durban.

However, the team have moved to play down concerns with team spokesman Michael Tsapidis adding the players were not upset by the theft and were "extremely satisfied" with the way the hotel had responded.

"In our opinion this is not such a big deal. This incident is something that could happen anywhere in the world," Tsapidis told a press conference.
