Eight people were injured after a student opened fire at a high school in the southern French town of Grasse, Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said.

Speaking on BFM TV he said one person had been arrested.

Another interior ministry official told Reuters three people had been injured, including the school's headmaster.
