Grace Borg, the former chairman of the Maltasong Board, has declared herself to be a prospective Labour candidate at the general election.

Ms Borg, well known for the tenacity with which she pushes her views, had resigned from the board in 2005, saying she was not  allowed to do her job by the "clique" of then Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.

Ms Borg runs a successful business and has been particularly vocal in her efforts to clamp down on video piracy.

She is expected to be a candidate on the second and tenth districts.
