In the past few days, a number of former players of Gozitan clubs Victoria Hotspurs and Calypsian Bosco Youths (now Oratory Youths) came together to play a match at Sannat Ground.

Ġużi Formosa (ex-Youths player) and Tarċisju Galea (ex-Hotspurs) were present for the game as they are on holiday here from the United States and Australia respectively.

The Hotspurs won the match 4-2 to make amends for last year’s defeat. Fr Emanuel Cutajar, who is well-known in Gozo for his contribution to sports, was the match referee. Fr Cutajar has been doing missionary work in Albania for the past 10 years.

A true sense of friendship prevailed during the game as the players joked and shared many happy memories from their heyday. Some of those present played for both Victoria clubs during their careers.
