The Gozo University Group has called for an increase to the Gozitan Students Maintenance Grant based on the cost of living.
 
It said the grant should be directly transferred to a bank account rather than be paid by cheque.

It also called for the grant to be handed monthly as rents by Gozitan students in Malta are paid every month.

The group said its call followed a survey, where around 95% of the students stated that the grant was not enough to meet their transport and rent costs.
