The government is planning to build five schools by 2012.

Education Minister Dolores Cristina said in reply to a parliamentary question that a boys' secondary school will be built at Zokrija, Mosta for an estimated cost of €8 million.

A secondary school will be built in Victoria, Gozo, for €7 million (excluding the cost of parking space and a basement).

€9 million will be spent on a girls' secondary school at Handaq, Qormi, a kindergarten will be built Mosta for €2.5 million and a a girls' secondary school will be built at Kirkop for a further €9 million.
