Kurt Farrugia, head of government communications, and Ramona Attard, communications coordinator at the Ministry of Home Affairs, have denied that they were the ones who filed a report to the police about a photograph allegedly taken by former broadcaster Norman Vella in a restricted area of the airport on Sunday.

The government officials were reacting to court testimony this morning where lawyer Karol Aquilina said he was told by a police inspector that the report was made by them.

“We never spoke to anyone in the police about this case and the first time we got to know about it as when we arrived in Heathrow,” the officials said.

The two said the statements made in court cast doubts on the credibility of those who made them.
