The government in a vaguely worded statement this afternoon denied a story on the Opposition media regarding a Cabinet reshuffle.

One News yesterday mentioned several people as possibly being in line for Cabinet posts in a reshuffle which will come about after the Prime Minister said he is considering splitting the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs.

The report said that Beppe Fenech Adami was being earmarked for the Justice Ministry, but he may refuse. Other movements were to involve Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici, Robert Arrigo and Jason Azzopardi, among others.

The government said the Opposition media was inventing stories and not observing its own code of ethics about not saying half truths or untruths.

Meanwhile, informed sources said that the Ministry of  Justice and Home Affairs may be split without new people being brought into the Cabinet, with the Justice Ministry being assigned to one of the existing ministers along with his existing portfolio.
