The Government got the bigger picture right but may have failed to treat individuals with the respect and dignity they deserved, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said tonight.

He pledged to improve this aspect of Government as a priority if the PN were to be re-elected, a message he also gave in his last two speeches.

"People should not be treated like files or reference numbers," he said.

Addressing supporters in Pembroke on the penultimate day of the campaign, Dr Gonzi reiterated his pledges to create a "minimum" of 25,000 jobs and provide a leap of quality in healthcare and education.

He said the PN would tackle the issue of out-of-stock medicines and provide another 3,000 scholarships to students.

He warned that these things should not be taken for granted because Labour had not kept its word in the past when it had, for example, turned stipends into loans.

Dr Gonzi warned that Labour's energy plan was dangerous because the gas tanks built in Delimara could explode and destroy the power station and nearby houses.

He said it would also benefit from no EU funds because it went against EU policy, which was  to create a connected network of energy infrastructure.

Dr Gonzi concluded by appealing to undecided voters to make the right decision and focus on the most important issues. He stressed that Labour had no substance and only spoke about roadmaps that no one could understand.
