Although the latest chapter in the long-running Michelle Wie show ended in disappointment on Friday, the Hawaiian teenager remains as upbeat as ever about her future.

Despite missing the cut by four strokes at the Sony Open after closing with a superb two-under-par 68, Wie (picture) is determined to win her first women's major and qualify for the weekend in a men's tournament for the first time.

"My goal is definitely to win in the LPGA, to win a major," she said.

"And my goal is definitely to make the cut and to compete out here (on the PGA Tour)."
