iGO is Famalco Group’s newest venture into the local ride-hailing market. Its main objective is to provide the consumer with an affordable method of transportation through the use of the latest technology for ease of booking convenience and journey tracking.

Following a thorough market research and a solid business plan which started off in 2018, iGO is ready to go. Much of ride-hailing’s popularity stems from three highly sought-after fundamental characteristics: safety, economic sustainability and accessibility, all of which have been heavily analysed and applied both in a physical and cultural philosophy within iGO.

In preparation for its launch over the coming weeks, a fully-fledged training programme has been organised for all drivers and subcontractors who will become the front brand representatives with customers. The scope of the training was to equip these drivers with the skills, knowledge and approach towards the provision of a top-class service.

We want to hit the ground running

The training programme used a range of learning styles to cater for individual differences but the main approach involved experiential learning that is a hands-on form of education focusing on the active participation of attendees and on their sharing of personal reflections instead of the traditional tutor-student approach.

The topics covered included the definition of customer service, how to effectively communicate with customers, how to handle complaints and challenging customers, as well as a variety of customer service tools which are considered useful for the job.

Business development director and co-founder Hermann Mallia said: “We’re doing everything we can to make sure iGO is as fine-tuned as possible. We shall be releasing an app that’s simple and ready to use and we’re training our drivers to go the extra mile. We want to hit the ground running, offering both a professional and enjoyable service.”

As iGO is nearing its official launch, the project is receiving a streak of positive feedback following initial trials. Indicative forecasts are pointing towards a successful endeavour.
