GO has won the rights to broadcast F1 races live and exclusively for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons.

The coverage will include Friday practice sessions, Saturday free practice and qualifying session, and the Sunday race.

“We are delighted and honoured to be able to offer our Sports+ customers the pinnacle of all motorsport, Formula One, throughout a whole season which spans between March and November of every year,” said GO Chief Executive Officer David Kay.

“For the coming three years, we will be giving the Maltese motoring enthusiasts the chance to follow live and exclusively the three free practices on Friday and Saturday, apart from the qualifying session and the race itself. Such extensive coverage will be only available on GO Plus TV,” Mr Kay added.

The F1 rights are the latest addition to a suite of GO’s other exclusive rights which include the Ryder Cup, the PGA European tour, the finals of the Davis Cup, Wimbledon tournament, the English FA Cup, the England national team World Cup qualifiers and friendlies, and a host of international rugby tournaments. In December of this year, GO will be transmitting live and exclusively the FIFA Club World Cup.
