Go plc yesterday said that Waldonet’s termination of its ADSL and internet services came about following a recent ruling by the Commission of Fair Trading in favour of Go.

“Waldonet owes Go substantial amounts of money, and such debts have accumulated over the past years. Despite Go’s best efforts over the past years to negotiate with Waldonet payment programmes for the sums overdue, such negotiations have failed.

This situation has been ongoing and over the years Go has desisted from taking action given the ongoing judicial process. Go has always cooperated with the competent authorities on the matter. “On October 21, Go had informed Waldonet that if they failed to pay the amounts owed, the provision of such services would be terminated in line with the contractual obligations established between the two parties, and in line with the ruling,” Go said.

Go said it is doing its utmost to minimise any inconvenience for customers wishing to subscribe directly with Go.
